Meaning Behind Iron Ghost

The Iron Ghost signifies man's peak form. Sculpted by Iron on the outside and forged by the Fire of God on the inside. A man of conviction present in this world yet a ghost to its grasp.

There are few things on earth more distasteful than a man subjugated by his own flesh...devoid of self-control, discipline, and purpose. A slave to the ever-changing sea of passion... The epitome of weakness.

Those who resonate with the meaning must walk a different path...a much harder path. A path in which death to self is the prerequisite to success. Only from the ashes of what once was can man be transformed by the power of the Ghost. The chains of bondage having been broken, now free to conquer, physically, mentally, and spiritually.

The Grappler's Talon gets its strength from its unique manufacturing process. Although it feels extremely lightweight coming in at only 23 grams (~ 0.050lbs), it is incredibly strong. It gets its strength from continuous unbroken strands of CARBON FIBER infused into its many layers creating an unseen but immensely strong inner support structure.

The Wrist strap was designed to be as simple and light as possible. While some comfort was given up, it makes up for it in its lightweight discreet package. Additionally, since the strap is not integral to the Talon, it can be replaced or fixed with ease to fit your liking.

STORY BEHIND INCEPTION

For any serious lifter, few things are more irritating that being held back from training to or past failure. This was a far too familiar problem on pull days, in particular with heavy single arm dumbbell or smith rows. The amount of energy robbed from the target muscle to ensure a strong enough grip would inevitably lead to premature failure. With pumped forearms, tired hands, and a still capable back I found myself frustrated to the point of skipping certain exercises I loved. I tried conventional lifting straps, but they drove me up the wall. The constant tensioning and loosening, bulky size, lack of ability to feel the bar, time it took to attach or readjust, and the list goes on all proved more work than reward. Even the more expensive and unique straps still proved to be too bulky and didn't allow for enough hand on bar contact. Finally, after months of struggling to progress I decided to attempt to make my own solution. I wanted something different, something that I had never seen before. One day while brainstorming I saw an eagle. Immediately I thought, it sure would be nice to have a talon to lift weights like the eagle uses to carry its heavy prey. The lightbulb went off, I should make a "Lifting Talon." I grabbed a piece of paper and started sketching. I wanted something small enough to stow in a pant pocket, require zero effort to put on and attach, allow me to still "feel" the bar in my hand, and have a quick release feature for heavy dumbbell use. But, most important of all, it needed to provide a fixed connection to the bar like a proper talon. That way as my grip strength faded, I would be able to maintain form and push to failure. This was a rather tall order. To create a "hard-fixed Lifting Talon" that was strong enough for serous weight, small enough to allow for a natural grip, and comfortable enough to manage was no easy task. After several weeks of design, geometry changes, prototyping, and thorough testing, the current Grappler was born. A new type of lifting strap never before seen. A Lifting Talon that allows you to maintain natural grip, pull heavier weight, and quick release when needed. No longer is forearm fatigue and grip strength a hindrance.

To provide an example of how much The Grappler has helped me, within two weeks I went from 6 reps on 125lb dumbbell single arm rows to 6-8 reps on 150lb dumbbell single arm rows. Additionally, my RDL's on leg days went from struggling to hold the bar for 4-5 reps on 315lbs and feeling it in my arms to an easy 10-12 reps on 315lbs and only feeling it in my hamstrings (with the occasional push to 405 for 2-3). Not only has The Grappler allowed me to lift more, but it has also significantly increased my mind muscle connection allowing for much more concentrated lifts.  It has truly been a game changer for all my bar and barbell pulling exercises.
